Theodosius Image
Theodosius I, surnamed The Great (346-395) Roman Emperor (379-395). In 379 Theodosius took over the administration of Thrace, Dacia, Macedonia, Egypt, and the East. He subdued the Goths and Visigoths, and sent the Ostrogoths in retreat towards Scythia. The latter returned in 386, but were totally defeated.
