Madame Roland Biography

Madame Marie (or Manon) Jeanne Philipon Roland de la Platière (1754-93). An influential figure in Paris society at the time of the French Revolution. Her salon was frequented by Brissot, Buzot, Pétion, Robespierre, and others. She was beheaded Nov. 8, 1793.
