[Up] [Dromo's Den] Philip of Macedon Image Philip II (352-336 B.C.). King of Macedonia and father of Alexander the Great. Philip defeated the Greek States at the battle of Chæronæ in 338 and unified Greece but was assassinated before he could invade Persia. J. N.
