Simon de Montfort (c.1160-1218) Count of Toulouse. In 1209 he distinguished himself in the crusade against the Albigenses with his ferocity and successes. He obtained the territories of the leader of the Albigenses, Count Raymond VI of Toulouse. He was killed by a stone at the siege of Toulouse, June 25, 1218.
