[Up] [Dromo's Den] Hanna Bailey Biography BAILEY, Hanna Johnston,
president of the Maine Woman's Suffrage association, was born July 5, 1839, in
Cornwall-on-the-Hudson. N. Y. She received her education at a denominational
boarding school and subsequently followed the profession of teaching for ten
years. She has been the world's and national superintendent of the department of
Peace and arbitration in the Woman's Christian Temperance union. For ten years
she was treasurer of a foreign missionary society, and is now treasurer of the
National Council of Women. Mrs. Bailey was one of the judges In the department
of liberal arts at the World's Columbian Exposition; and she is now the honored
