Amenhotep IV, or Akhnaten, or Amenophis IV. (d. 1362 B.C.) The Napkhururiya (Egyptian Nefer-Khoper-re) of the Amarna Tablets. Amenhotep tried to replace the old polytheistic religion of Egypt by the worship of the Sun.
